to say I was not happy with the "scene" at Cafe Napoleon (Metropolitan Lounge) would be a drastic understatement.
1) the party was far from free. In addition to every patron having to pay $40, in order to get service at the bar you needed to have a $20 in your hand..
2) They ran out of everything: Beer (all kinds); wine; sours mix; grenadine and basically lots of other stuff (Captain Morgan; mid level Vodka's)
3) One of the bartenders downstairs had NEVER tended bar before (or at least it didn't seem like it)...She had to ask about everything - like "how to do a pour count on a Captain and Diet"
4) There was no one running/busing tables. They repeatedly ran out of glasses (plastic and glass); wine glasses, etc - because no one was busing the tables and consoles they had out
5) the two bartenders had to keep leaving the bar to find alcohol, glasses etc.
6) they let about 100 people too many in very early - which in addition to taxing the already struggling bartenders, made it about 6000 degrees in there.
7) the two bartenders kept stopping to "chit chat" (even though there were well over 100 people waiting for drinks)
8) There were three options: Pay $40 cover and open bar tab; pay $80 and drink until midnight; and pay $100 for full open bar. NONE of the bar staff checked wristbands - so paying $100 and paying $40 made no difference.
